Gregory D. Padgett Scholarship for Accounting

Greg Padgett ‘79 is Chief Financial Officer of Fennell Holdings, Inc., an investment holding company encompassing the hospitality, waste management & recycling, real estate, aviation, commercial & residential security and finance industries. He previously served as a partner at Gamble, Givens, & Moody, CPAs. A certified public accountant (CPA) and certified global management accountant (COMA), Greg received his bachelor’s degree from the College of Charleston in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting.

He is currently a member of the American institute of Certified Public Accountants, the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants, Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership honor society and Beta Gamma Sigma, a national business honor society.

Greg serves on the College of Charleston Board of Trustees and is the immediate past Chair of the College’s Board. He was appointed to the Board of Trustees by Governor Mark Sanford in 2008 and was nominated in 2010 by the College of Charleston Alumni Association and appointed by Governor Nikki Haley to serve the inaugural term of the newly legislated seat. He serves as a member of the School of Business Board of Governors. Greg was previously a member of the Cougar Club board, President of the CofC Foundation board and a member of the most recent Presidential Search Committee.

Greg is a former member of the Charleston REgional Development Alliance and Board of Trustees for the Charleston Stage Company.
