Frederick Thomas Lense Memorial Scholarship in Chemistry

The Frederick Thomas Lense Memorial Scholarship was created in celebration of the life of Fred Lense, Class of 1938. Overcoming tremendous physical handicaps, he graduated from the College in 1938 in chemistry. He spent his career focusing on applied chemical research, held numerous patents and rose to become Vice President for Research and Development with the Texize Chemical Company.

The scholarship will be awarded to a rising junior or senior chemistry or biochemistry major who has demonstrated academic excellence and dedication to the pursuit of science. Selection will be made by faculty.
