Wendy and Keith Wellin Scholarship
B. Keith S. Wellin and Wendy C. H. Wellin exemplify the profound impact that philanthropy can have on improving the welfare of others. A retired Wall Street executive and noted philanthropist, Mr. Wellin attended the Citadel and was stationed as an officer in Seoul, Korea. Following his Army service, Mr. Wellin returned to Hamilton College, where he received a degree in Philosophy and English literature, then went on to earn an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1952. Mrs. Wellin attended Williams College and completed an educational program with Sotheby’s Institute of Art. In 2005, the Wellins made their permanent home in Charleston and quickly became engaged citizens and philanthropists to their community. Though Mr. Wellin passed away in 2014, he and his wife supported generously to many local organizations. Apropos to this commitment to strengthening healthcare in her community, the Wendy and Keith Wellin Scholarship will cultivate the next generation of leading healthcare professionals, thereby furthering the Wellins’ legacy as thought leaders and philanthropists.
