Pantazis/Bell Scholarship Fund

Fotios Pantazis and William Lee Bell, Jr., settled in Charleston in 2021 to begin a new phase of their lives together as Lee and his family are from South Carolina and Fotios was looking for a community rich in history, culture, and the arts. With a strong interest in supporting many diverse organizations in Charleston, their hope is that through this scholarship they can assist an LGBTQ+ student in financial need.

The purpose of this gift is to provide one-time scholarships for two CofC students who exhibit financial need, and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Preference will be given to applicants from the LGBTQ+ community. Students must also demonstrate, through an application essay that will be in the scholarship portal, the potential for leadership in promoting cross-cultural understanding, have an outstanding record of active support or involvement in areas of concerns to the LGBTQ+ community or with a demonstrated academic interest in topics such as race, sex, sexual orientation, and multiculturalism as they intersect with traditional academic fields.
