Jean and Tap Johnson 1967 Legacy Endowed Scholarship
The purpose of this gift is to create an endowed fund, “Fund,” to provide scholarships for participants in the College of Charleston’s 1967 Legacy Scholars Program. The purpose is to recruit incoming freshmen to the program. Recipients may be eligible for renewal so long as they maintain their qualifications.
This fund is established by Jean and Tap Johnson. Though they are not alums, the Johnsons are Cougars through and through. Both have served in numerous leadership roles on campus including the Foundation Board of Directors, Cougar Club Board of Directors, School of Business Board of Governors and School of the Arts Advisory Council. Their enthusiasm for the College of Charleston is, its students and student athletes is inspiring, and this gift demonstrates their commitment to advance the College’s strategic plan through the recruitment of underrepresented minorities.
