Friedgen Family Italian Study Abroad Endowed/Annual Scholarship

Gloria Friedgen is an active citizen who has taken Italian classes offered at the College of Charleston. In addition to being a student, she’s active in the Italian Club and teaches Italian folk dances. She wishes to establish this fund because she understands the impact study abroad has on young students and also wants to ensure that the Italian culture remains prominent at the College of Charleston. The Donors established this fund to honor Professor Michael Maher and Adjunct Professor Marinella Griffiths. Gloria and Ralph Friedgen have been long-time supporters of higher education with gifts supporting the arts, athletics, and academics at the University of Maryland, Emory University, and The Citadel.
