Marion W. Hornik Endowed Scholarship in Hospitality and Tourism Management

The Marion W. Hornik Endowed Scholarship is being established by Ruth N. Hornik in memory of her husband Marion W. Hornik. Marion was a member of the College of Charleston’s Graduating Class of 1929 and a principal of M. Hornik and Company from 1934-84. Marion became involved in the hospitality industry as a supplier of textile and case goods to the hotel industry and later as a member of the Board of Directors of South Carolina Hotel & Motel Association and the Greater Charleston Area Hotel and Motel Association. Marion’s exuberance is credited with building a strong membership base for the SCAH&MA and the GCH&MA that exists today.
