Student Alumni Associates (SAA) Endowed/Annual Scholarship

Scholarship recipients must be full-time rising Sophomore, Junior, or Senior students and participate in a minimum of two College of Charleston organizations. Applicants must write an essay of 750 words or less describing his or her most significant volunteer or leadership activity as a student at the College and why it was meaningful. Applicants must also provide two letters of recommendation. Preference is given to students with financial need.

The main purpose of SAA, as a program of the Alumni Association, is to serve as the direct liaison between the current student body and alumni, as well as promote loyalty to the College through involvement and tradition. SAAs can be found all over campus promoting school spirit, working as student marshals for commencement ceremonies, participating in donor events, and working closely with the President’s Office, Alumni Association, and fellow student organizations.
