Dr. Deborah A. Miller Public Health Scholarship
The Dr. Deborah A. Miller Public Health Scholarship will be used to support one to two (1-2) full time students pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health within the School of Health Sciences. The student must have completed 60 hours, with a minimum of 45 hours completed at the College of Charleston. The student must have completed a minimum of 6 hours within the School of Health Sciences and have a minimum overall GPA of 3.2 and completed a minimum of 75 documented hours of volunteer experience in a health-related field while at the College.
Application must include a current resume, an unofficial transcript, two letters of recommendation, and an essay of no more than 350 words regarding the importance of Public Health in today’s world.
Students with the following attributes will be given preference based on the order below: non traditional students (age 25 and older) and/or military personnel (active/reserve personnel, retired, or honorably discharged) and/or students who have completed all of their academic hours at the College of Charleston. * if a scoring system is needed to determine the recipients a non-traditional student receives 5 points; military personnel receive 3 points; and a student completing all his/her hours at the College receives 1 point.
Recipients of the Dr. Deborah A. Miller Public Health Scholarship may not receive either of the Laura S. Griffin Scholarships in the same academic year. Scholarship recipients may NOT be a double major.
